High Speed-maglev Vehicles

The "Jiaoda-Tangche High-Temperature Superconducting Maglev Train," the world's first engineering prototype of its kind, was launched on January 13, 2021, at Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, Sichuan. Jointly developed by the university and CRRC Tangshan, its core innovation is high-temperature superconducting maglev technology. Using liquid nitrogen cooling, it achieves self-levitation, guidance, and stability without active power for suspension. Designed to exceed 600 km/h with an all-carbon-fiber body, this prototype marks a key step from lab to engineering application, laying a foundation for future ultra-high-speed maglev systems.
