CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd.
The CR450BF electric multiple unit (EMU) was officially unveiled at the National Railway Test Center in Beijing on December 29, 2024. As a core achievement of the "CR450 Science and Technology Innovation Project," this train, developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., represents a significant milestone in China's high-speed rail development. Its design is distinguished by comprehensive advancements in speed, safety, energy efficiency, comfort, and intelligence: with a maximum test speed of 450 km/h and a commercial operation speed of 400 km/h, it is positioned to become the world's fastest high-speed train in service. Breakthroughs such as the pioneering use of a permanent magnet traction system, a lightweight body (over 10% weight reduction), and advanced noise reduction technologies ensure outstanding energy performance and passenger comfort despite the significant speed increase. The successful development of the CR450BF marks a pivotal breakthrough for China's high-speed rail technology from catching up to leading the world, laying a solid foundation for building a world-leading modern railway transportation system.
