On April 22-24, 2021, the first Chengdu International Industrial Expo (2021) was held at the Western Expo City in China. Sichuan Communications Investment showcased its mountainous rail transit with the characteristics of "gear rail+wheel rail" at the Expo Rail Transit Exhibition.
On March 3, 2021, the Launching Ceremony of the Ten Key Projects for a Happy and Better Life and the High-Quality Enterprise Development Conference were held in Jinniu District, Chengdu. Our institute was invited to attend the conference. During the event, the Opportunity List of the Ten Key Projects for a Happy and Better Life in Jinniu District was released, and a number of outstanding enterprises with high-quality development in the district were commended.
On January 13, 2021, China's independently developed high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev engineering prototype was launched in Chengdu. The prototype successfully completed the verification of basic functions such as levitation, guidance, traction, and braking, as well as system integration testing on a 165-meter test line built by Southwest Jiaotong University. It provides an innovative solution for future high-speed and ultra-high-speed transportation systems and holds significant importance for advancing technology transfer and promoting the development of rail transit disciplines.
On January 13, 2021, the world's first high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev engineering prototype and test line using original technology from Southwest Jiaotong University was officially put into use in Chengdu, Sichuan. This marks a breakthrough in the engineering research of high-temperature superconducting high-speed maglev from scratch and meets the conditions for engineering testing and demonstration.
In 2021, invited by iF Chengdu Design Center, Professor Wang Chao, Deputy Director of the Institute of Human Machine Environment System Design, gave a design lecture on "Design Thinking and Practice of Rail Transit Vehicles".
On October 19, 2020, the 5th China Design Intelligence Award (DIA Award) was officially announced at the China Academy of Art. The CR300BF "Fuxing" high-speed train with a speed of 250 km/h, designed by the Institute of Man-Machine Environment System Design, Southwest Jiaotong University, won this award.
October 17, 2019, guided by the Industrial Design Teaching Subgroup of the Higher Education Committee of the Ministry of Education, the academic forum themed "Design for Life: Design and Culture in the High-Speed Rail Era", co-hosted by the School of Design and Art of Southwest Jiaotong University and the Sichuan Provincial Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Sciences (Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Center of Sichuan University), was grandly opened at the Art Museum of the School of Architecture and Design of Southwest Jiaotong University.
On October 2019, Chinese enterprises have won the bid for the Bogotá Metro Line 1, and the GoA4 fully autonomous train manufactured by CRRC Changchun for this project has commenced dynamic testing.The train draws design inspiration from Colombia’s national bird, the "Andean Condor," integrating cutting-edge technology with local culture. It features a high-strength stainless steel body, offers full-scenario autonomous driving capabilities, and its interior configuration emphasizes comfort and intelligent interaction.This train not only serves as the core equipment for Bogotá’s first metro line but also signifies the successful entry of China’s high-end rail transit systems into the Latin American market.
On July 19, 2019, the re-evaluation of the 4th China Design Intelligence Award (DIA Award) was successfully concluded, with a total of 217 winning works selected. The Fuxing Intelligent EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) for the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-Speed Railway, designed by the Institute of Man-Machine Environment System Design, Southwest Jiaotong University, won this award.
On December 12, 2016, the 2016 China Design Red Star Award Ceremony was held in Beijing. The team from the Institute of Man-Machine Environment System Design, Southwest Jiaotong University won the 2016 China Design Red Star Award with three works: pure electric bus, Kaifeng Tram Mobile Flower Gallery and Kaifeng Tram Ancient and Modern Rhythm. This is the fourth time the team has won this authoritative domestic design award, following 2012, 2013 and 2015.
